Mount Hotham
|
|
We went to Mount Hotham to try out skiing and snowboarding. Snowboarding was great fun but tiring. My whole body was aching especially mu bum! If I didn't have Addis I'd definitely try and make it a regular thing but it was too hard with a baby. Somehow he knew where I hurt the most and would just attack me there!!! So evil

Addis' 1st Birthday Party

Addis turned 1 on June 15. How fast time flies. We had a party for him on Sat with his little friends and family. We were lucky with the weather. Thank you God. Nick made pizza, baked a cake and made dips. He's such a good daddy. He also cleaned up the house and the garden. I hear some people asking 'what did Joanna do?'. I supervised Nick  . I baked little cupcakes, did dips, sandwiches and that's about it. We got lots of help from family which was great. It was also Grandma Zelda's birthday so it was great having her there celerabrating herbirthday with Addis. It was a great day with family and friends. I doubt Addis will remember his 1st party but I surely will. Not sure if we'll be doing for our next kids tho....

This time last year I had a little baby in my hospital room and not knowing what the hell I'm suppose to do with him... 1 year on we've somehow survived. Nick and I are just shocked how quick time has gone. Addis is 1... Scarey... We didn't do much on his birthday. Spent it with family. Thought we should have an east day as I was getting 2 wisdom teeth out the next day. Anyways some photos taken on his birthday... Happy Birthday Addis!! You're mama's big boy now...

July 9th finally arrived... I can't speak for Nick but I was extremely nervous but very very happy. It's quite frightening how quickly 1 year has gone past. We were very lucky on the day. The weather was beautiful. Nick saw a rainbow, it didn't rain, sun was out. The ceremony was simple, short and beautiful. Sheik Sulaiman did a great job explaining the ceremony and the religion to everyone.
Lunch at Stella was yummy. Everyone had a good time enjoying each others company and feasting on the good food. Nick's grandma baked chocolate cheesecake and his Uncle Bruce decorated them. Very very yummy. The speeches were very touching. It was wonderful to see everyone mingling with each other and like the Sheik said in the ceremony, our 2 family has melted as 1. It was very touching to see 2 families, cultures embrace each other. Nick's speech was the best! (am I being bias?). He expressed so beautifully how we felt about each other (we didn't get it on video though  ).
After lunch everyone was pretty stuffed and exhausted. Nick's parents got us a great room at Radisson Playford. Very nice room.
So we have to thank everyone for a wonderful day. Thanks to both the parents and of course Gareth and my psycho sister Lara for setting Nick and myself up. So dodgy!! And lastly my brand new husband (need an upgrade in a few years hehe just kidding Nick!!). Thanks for getting the house ready for us. Working so hard. and just thanks for everything else like dealing with all the dramas (lots of dramas in my household) and for being my husband  . LOVE U!!
So we will be doing this in a much bigger scale in Dec in Penang. So see you guys then!
